ANDERSONVILLE
Andersonville was a confederate camp in Georgia and it became know as one of the most wretched and horrific prison camps during the Civil War. The camp was horribly crowded and the prisoners were constantly being either abused or neglected by other prisoners or guards. Roughly 32,000 people at a time would be forced into log stockade built to hold only 10,000 people. After the war had passed there were nearly 13,000 union prisoners were discovered in the aftermath of the war.
